Construction of an imaginary of the absent other
Invitation:
CECOLL and the research team of Images of Death invite you to participate in the Virtual Residence: Death and Collage: construction of an imaginary of the absent other.
This residence will be of virtual format, where different exhibitors will address the topic of records related to death, in which material will be provided for residents to develop a reflective text or collage work that will have a permanent dissemination space on the website of the Collage Studies Center and the website of the Death Images project.
The main objective is to reflect on death and its representation in different brackets. The invitation is to facilitate a reflective and creative process from the collage technique, deepening its theory and practice, from the investigation of funeral photographs of a family nature.
The Virtual Residence is aimed at people over 14 years of age, with an interest in collage, social sciences and death. A certificate of participation of the Virtual Residence will be granted to those who have full attendance. What is Images of Death?
Images of Death is a research project that addresses the issue of photographic production linked to death processes and funeral rites in Chile. Through the review of files and field work of an ethnographic nature, they have built a digital collection of photographs that seek to make visible the funeral photographic phenomenon of the Country. The first results of this work have shed light on certain modes of production, representation conventions, the circulation of images within families and in society in general.
About the team:
Constanza Sepúlveda: She is a social anthropologist (e), territorial manager and researcher of “Images of death”. The project begins with your degree thesis. His lines of work are: Photography and anthropological studies of death, cultural management and territory.
Jazmín Cerebello: She is a Social Anthropologist and Magister in Political Science, researcher of “Images of Death”. He currently works as a teacher at the University of Chile. Its thematic lines are: Photography and anthropological studies of death, Polynesia, Rapa Nui culture and scientific dissemination.

Jorge Lembach: Professor of philosophy, Master in Education from UMCE and diploma in Educational Psychology from Alberto Hurtado University, lecturer at the Center for College Studies.
